Espaço Sala Verde was created on April 16, 2018 and opened on August 22, 2018, in the Ipaneminha community in Ipatinga-MG. The Green Room is provided with materials and elements that make the environment dynamic and interactive, with an educational character, to collaborate in the democratization of access to socio-environmental information, generating discussions about environmental awareness and cultural appreciation of the region. It is a place of multiple potentials where courses, lectures, theaters, workshops, events, meetings, campaigns, exhibitions and shows can be held.

The project's objective is to bring scientific information to communities that allow them to reflect on the importance of environmental preservation to maintain biodiversity and improve people's quality of life, as well as to present environmental education as a tool for children and young people to better understand relationships. ecological issues and the balance of the ecosystem, and to train students and teachers to question and analyze in a rational and expressive way the socio-environmental issues involved. In addition, the Green Room promotes social and environmental activities in order to make society aware of the theme of commemorative days, such as Tree Day, Environment Day and Water Day, and highlight the importance of environmental preservation.
